Semarang, August 29, 2024 – The Department of Chemical Engineering at Diponegoro University has held a guest lecture as part of the Adjunct Professor program funded by the World Class University UNDIP Adjunct Professor Program 2024, titled “Renewable Energy and Future Research.” The event took place at the Dean’s Building of the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, on the 3rd floor. This event was attended by students and lecturers from the Chemical Engineering Department of Diponegoro University.

An adjunct professor represents a collaboration with world-class researchers through research and inviting credible experts in their fields, as well as international publications in Q1 or Q2. This year, the Department of Chemical Engineering successfully hosted Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava as a speaker.

The event began with a welcome speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Diponegoro University, Prof. Jamari, S.T., M.T., who warmly welcomed the organization of this year’s adjunct professor program. “I hope all of you can follow the explanation from Prof. Vimal and ask him many questions regarding renewable energy,” said Prof. Jamari.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, is a professor of Chemical Engineering as well as the Dean of International Relations and Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has contributed significantly in several research fields, one example being energy and fuels. For his contributions, he has achieved an H-index of 70. Prof. Vimal presented the topic “Renewable Energy and Future Research,” which was moderated by Dessy Ariyanti, Ph.D. He explained energy sources, clean energy technologies, controlling air pollution, and alternative energy sources and their impacts on the environment.

The guest lecture concluded with a group photo of the participants and the attending lecturers, and it is hoped that it can make a significant contribution to the development of research and the application of renewable energy in the future.
