The quality of research can be assessed by the quartile of the journal to which it is submitted for publication. Based on this, in order to enhance the quality and quantity of publications in reputable international journals, the Department of Chemical Engineering at Diponegoro University is organizing a Coaching Clinic for Manuscript, which is part of the activities of the Adjunct Professor program funded by the World Class University UNDIP Program Adjunct Professor 2024. This event will take place over 3 days (Tuesday, August 27, 2024, and Thursday – Friday, August 29 – 30, 2024) at the Theater Room on the 4th floor and the Senate Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Ir. Prof. Ir. Eko Budiharjo, M.Sc. Building, Faculty of Engineering, UNDIP, attended by lecturers as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students from various faculties.

This event features a world-class professor with an h-index of 70 from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India, Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, who specializes in Environmental Science and Chemical Engineering. He presented material on Research Planning and Literature Review, Sections of Manuscript, Figures & Graphics, Plagiarism Check, Journal Selection, Impact Factor, Quartiles, Reviewer Identification, Reference Writing, Paper Submission Sites, Comment Reply, and much more. Prof. Vimal emphasized the importance of avoiding plagiarism as it significantly impacts the reputation of both the writer and the institution by always citing when referencing previous research and paraphrasing sentences. He also advised to always pay attention to the quality of the research results presented in the form of data, graphs, or diagrams, as this is an important aspect that is first considered by journal reviewers. The quality of the targeted journal is also a concern for him and can be checked through the website https://wos-journal.info/?It seems like your input is incomplete or may not be a coherent sentence. Could you please provide more context or clarify what you meant?

Participants, consisting of master’s and doctoral students, were also given the opportunity to consult on the drafts of manuscripts they had prepared for feedback and suggestions. At least eight manuscripts have been reviewed and advised by Prof. Vimal for improvement. With this activity, it is hoped that it can assist postgraduate students in preparing scientific articles (papers) that are a requirement for graduation.
