Faculty of Engineering – The Chemical Engineering Paper Competition (CEPTION) 2017 with the theme “Technological Innovation in Utilisation of Renewable Natural Materials to Realise Indonesia based on SDGs 2030” was held by Universitas Negeri Semarang on 10-12 November 2017. The team from Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Engineering consisting of Misbahudin Alhanif, Ari Purnomo, and Ummi Az Zuhra (Chemical Engineering 2015) won second place in the competition.
The title of the scientific work carried by the Undip team is “Optimisation of the Separation Process in the Production of Fuel Grade Ethanol through the Synthesis of Hydrophobic Zeolites from Rice Husk Ash by-products of the Combustion of the Brick Industry”.
The purpose of this year’s LKTI CEPTION 2017 is to improve the ability of Indonesian students to reason and initiate an idea to show their sensitivity to problems, especially the utilisation of natural resources and improve the critical attitude of students, especially on energy issues in Indonesia.
It is hoped that the results of the research carried out by the team from Undip will be able to become an alternative in optimising natural resources in Indonesia and overcoming existing problems, especially in the energy sector.
